  • About Us

St Columb’s Hall Trust is a registered charity, established in 2019 to regenerate St Columb’s Hall and contribute positively to our community.

The Trust has ambitious plans to transform the 135-year-old former temperance Hall into a vibrant transformational community space.

The Trust aims to:

  • Bring St Columb’s Hall back to life as a living, breathing building
  • Contribute positively to the regeneration of one of our city’s Grade A Listed properties – benefiting tourism, the citizens of the city as a whole and also those who live and work in the city centre
  • Set down a plan of action and a programme for regeneration work to ensure that the building is properly managed to sustain its value to the City and region
  • Imbue citizens, neighbouring properties and public and private sector investors with confidence in the possibilities of a regenerated city centre area
  • Rigorously testing new, ambitious, relevant services and opportunities
  • Contribute to making the city centre a thriving, visually attractive area so that people will be encouraged to live and spend more time in it
  • Create the opportunity to share this resource with the wider community and beyond
  • Encourage the local community to actively participate in sustaining this historic resource encouraging a sense of ownership
  • Ensure that this very significant place is managed to sustain its cultural, historical, aesthetic and communal value.

Whether you are an experienced Board Member or you want to take your first step at Board level, we want to hear from you.

We are especially interested in hearing from people with skills in the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Legal
  • People/HR
  • Capital Development
  • Operations
  • Digital

As a Board Member you will have:

  • Induction training
  • Opportunities to make strategic decisions to develop new skills
  • Opportunities to network with external groups and attend our events
  • Opportunities to contribute to ambitious plans to transform St Columb’s Hall into a vibrant community space
  • Representing the Trust at events/external meetings
  • Board Membership is voluntary. It can also be a really rewarding experience – both professionally and personally. Active Board Members can have a significant impact on the organisation; learn new skills; broaden networks; and grow knowledge.

Expected Time Commitment:

  • Board members are expected to attend bi-monthly meetings and play an active role in at least one sub-committee.
  • In addition to Board Meetings and Sub Committee meetings, all Board Members are expected to participate in one Strategy/Networking Session per year.
  • We encourage Board Members to attend events and activities run by St Columb’s Hall Trust and be actively part of the life of the building.
  • Board Membership is for a Term of 3 years. Our practice is for a maximum of 2 Terms.

We welcome applicants from all sections of the community, and we particularly welcome applicants from under-represented groups and diverse religious backgrounds.
